Driving in snow - Your car insurance can be invalidated before YOU leave the driveway

March 1, 2018

Most cars are not fully equipped to deal with the snow and ice throughout the year which is why drivers are being urged to take extra care on the roads.

Drivers, however, could be making a simple error before they even leave their house which could invalidate their car insurance premium.

According to information on Go Compare website motorists that fail to properly deice their car could see their car insurance invalidated if they need to make a claim.

If the view from the car is restricted due to ice or snow and there is an accident, the insure may refuse to payout for it.

Drivers are also being urged to check the terms and agreements of their car insurance premium to ensure they are fully covered in adverse weather conditions.
